Indian Railways is one of the largest railway networks in the world, organized into 17 operational zones and 71 divisions to ensure efficient management and operation. Each zone is overseen by a General Manager, while each division is managed by a Divisional Railway Manager (DRM). The 17th zone, the Metro Railway in Kolkata, was established as an independent zone in 2010.

Job Categories
Indian Railways offers four types of group-level jobs categorized as follows:
